Tia Brewer-Footman
Known to many as a “media darling,” Tia Brewer-Footman is an award-winning
media personality and former television news anchor for ABC,
CBS & FOX affiliated stations.
Over the years, Tia was seen daily in nearly a quarter of a million households
Before transitioning into her passion as a full-time entrepreneur.
Having also worked in various marketing and talent capacities for such
iconic brands as Walt Disney, McDonald’s, L’Oreal, Mercedes Benz North
America, QVC and dozens more, today this prominent business woman
leverages her influence to impact the community and inspire the next
generation of young women leaders to do the same.
BUSINESS COMMUNITY
Tia co-founded her company, Footman-Brewer Enterprises, LLC 15 years ago
with her husband Gerald Footman. Within FBE they provide multicultural
marketing consulting and special event support to Fortune 100 and 500
corporations in need of culturally relevant initiatives for communities of color
and of faith.
Such successfully-piloted projects created include: Elevated Voices, an
officially chartered gospel choir and Boeing employee engagement initiative,
the McDonald’s Choir Showcase, annual 16 week faith-based community
engagement, the Shop Talk Movement, grassroots evidenced-based colon
cancer initiative in collaboration with the American Cancer Society and
University of SC as well as inaugural partners of the American Heart
Association’s stroke awareness campaign, with the creation of the Power To
End Stroke – Salon Ambassador Program.
Appointed by former SC Governor Nikki Haley as her Designee and State
Commissioner for Minority Affairs, she also represents as the only female
voice on Charleston’s BB&T Advisory Board and recent member of BB&T’s
Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)/SC Community Development Council.
Recognizing she stands on the shoulders of giants, such as mentors like
philanthropist Anita Zucker, Tia continues to mentor hundreds of tomorrow’s
leaders as well through such platforms as the Disney Dreamer’s Academy, or
her own youth development programs, like the SC Summer Leadership Tour,
Tia’s Jr. All-Star Girl’s Academy and as a pastor’s wife in her local church.
Continuing to forge new paths, Tia and her husband are preparing for their
latest outreach initiative, SC FaithWork, a community economic
development program for SC’s churches and faith-based organizations.
This SC Liberty Fellow Nominee’s drive has garnered her national and local
recognition such as 40 Under 40 (Chas Business Journal), Innovators Under 35
(NCNW) and “Tia Brewer Day” in both Charleston, SC and Buffalo, NY.
